The Neumann M 149 is a variable dual-diaphragm microphone with a K 49 capsule, known from the legendary U 47 and M 49. It features a tube as an impedance converter and a transformerless output circuit. Two slide switches allow for pattern selection and high pass filter adjustment.
The transformerless output circuit, triode tube, and integrated amplifier provide a low-noise, high-output signal stage with an unaffected frequency response. The M 149 delivers exceptional signal character and response, with a 20Hz - 20kHz frequency response and 136dB SPL rating < 5%THD.
Select from omnidirectional, wide angle cardioid, cardioid, hypercardioid, and figure 8 polar patterns, with intermediate positions available. A 7-position low frequency roll-off switch at the rear selects a high-pass filter between 20 Hz and 160 Hz (-3dB). The capsule is shock-mounted to minimize noise.
